Mount St. Mary’s University hosted student-athlete representatives from all 13 Metro Conference member institutions for the 2026 Annual Metro Student-Athlete Advisory Committee meetings from Oct. 2-4 on its Emmitsburg campus.
The representatives participated in presentations, current affairs discussions, lectures and team-building exercises. Metro Commissioner Travis Tellitocci also made a presentation during the meetings.
AJ Schaufler, senior associate commissioner for regulatory affairs and leadership development, said the annual meetings help student-athletes connect with peers, share ideas and develop leadership skills. The weekend also included sessions on professional development, resume writing, financial literacy, difficult conversations, and conference and NCAA governance.
Mount St. Mary’s Representatives
Mount St. Mary’s University was represented by senior track and field athlete Jacey Hentz and senior tennis player Ryan Wagner. They joined representatives from the other Metro Conference institutions for the annual meetings.
Community Service and Gettysburg Visit
The representatives participated in a Saturday morning cleanup at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Afterward, the group traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, for dinner and a ghost tour.
Maryland Sports Blog Take
Mount St. Mary’s University provided the setting for a conference-wide student-athlete leadership gathering. The meetings combined governance and professional-development discussions with community service and a group visit to Gettysburg.
