Navy vs. American

Navy Midshipmen vs. American University Eagles

The Navy men’s soccer team will face American University Wednesday night at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis.

The Midshipmen come into the game on a four-game losing streak. In their 4-1 loss Saturday night to Loyola, freshman forward Jacob Williams scored his second goal for the Mids this season. Sophomore GK, Ian Bramblett, finished the game with six saves, one less than his career-high.

Navy head coach Tim O’Donohue said he was pleased with the Mids effort, “They fought back against a very good team and Loyola wore us down in the final 20 minutes.” O’Donohue then added about their next match, “We have a very winnable game Wednesday and we have to come back and beat American to get back in the [Patriot League] race.”

The Eagles of American University are coming off of a 1-1 tie against Bucknell. Jerry Zouantcha scored the Eagles only goal in the 89th minute, sending the game into overtime. The sophomore forward now has three goals on the season, second behind midfielder Fabio Massaro with four. Freshman GK, Lucas Manso, recorded three saves for American.
