McDaniel College women’s field hockey team fell to Susquehanna 2-1 in overtime Friday, Sept. 4, at Gill Stadium in Westminster, Md. Bailey Neff scored 40 seconds into overtime on the first shot of the extra period, giving Susquehanna its first win of the season and dropping McDaniel College to 0-2.
McDaniel College took a 1-0 lead with 27 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Junior Samira Morgan scored her first goal of the season and the second of her career off an assist from first-year Lola Minor, who recorded her first career point.
Susquehanna Forces Overtime
Jada Thompson scored Susquehanna’s tying goal midway through the second quarter. Neither team scored again during regulation, sending McDaniel College into its first overtime contest since Oct. 22, 2025.
Neff scored on Susquehanna’s first possession of the 7-on-7 overtime period. She dribbled around the McDaniel College defense and converted the first shot of the extra frame to complete the comeback.
McDaniel College Women’s Field Hockey Statistics
McDaniel College held a 12-11 edge in shots, while Susquehanna led 6-3 in penalty corners. Lora Scarangello made three saves for McDaniel College, and Taytum Lombardi made one save for Susquehanna.
Susquehanna improved to 1-1 with the victory. The result marked McDaniel College’s seventh one-goal decision in its last 19 games.

McDaniel College is scheduled to continue its three-game home stand Wednesday, Sept. 9, against No. 17 Stevenson at 6 p.m.
