McDaniel College women’s basketball and softball will send three student-athletes to the 28th Snell-Shillingford Symposium, scheduled for Oct. 10-11, 2026, at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Women’s basketball senior Raegan Lenz, women’s basketball junior Kendra Mason and softball junior Rileigh Kitchin will represent McDaniel College at the Centennial Conference leadership program. This year’s cohort includes 24 participants representing institutions across the conference.
McDaniel College representatives join Centennial Conference leadership program
The symposium is named for pioneering coaches Eleanor Frost Snell and Jen Shillingford. It has been a leadership program within the Centennial Conference for more than 25 years, providing student-athletes with skills and connections they can carry into athletics and their future careers.
The theme for the 2026-27 symposium is “The Power of Me: Creating Impact That Matters.” The program will explore how individual action, unique strengths, personal voices and purposeful leadership can create lasting impact within communities and teams.
Symposium includes women in sport panel and five sessions
The event will feature a panel discussion with women in sport, including Bethany Miller, sports director at WGAL; Kate Corcoran, director of athletics at Millersville University; and Katie Lytle, a Swarthmore women’s basketball alum who serves as assistant athletic director for budget and planning at Princeton University.
Five sessions will cover topics including Title IX, goal setting and the power of mentorship. Speakers include Ashley Day Gibbs of Women Leading Baltimore, Chelsea Christmas of At Her Core Fitness, Amy Wilson of the NCAA, Dina Henry of Franklin & Marshall College and author Megan Weisheipl.
