Max Scherzer wins N.L. Pitcher of the Month

Washington Nationals pitcher, Max Scherzer was awarded with the April N.L. Pitcher of the Month after superb pitching. Scherzer currently stands at a 6-1 win-loss record, along with a 1.74 ERA, and a league leading 80 strikeouts. Although he posted execeptional statistics, his competitors for the award had a solid chance to be given the award as well. Pitchers such as Carlos Martinez, Jacob deGrom, and Patrick Corbin were his main competition for the achievement.

Scherzer has not only won this award, but he has won the N.L. Player of the Week three times in his career, now four N.L. Pitcher of the Month awards, has been named a 5-time all star(two with Detroit and three with Washington), and he has won the 2013 A.L. Cy Young with Detroit, the 2016 N.L. Cy Young with Washington, and lastly, the 2017 N.L. Cy Young.

These statistics show that Max Scherzer is bound for the hall of fame, and without a doubt an all time great pitcher.
