The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) is accepting nominations for the High School Football Officiating Crew of the Month program in partnership with the Baltimore Ravens and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The program seeks nominations for high school football officiating crews from across Maryland.
One crew will be selected in September, October and November of the upcoming season. The program also will name a Crew of the Year at the end of the year.
What the MPSSAA Program Will Recognize
Nominees should demonstrate integrity, fairness and consistent application of the rules, along with professionalism and strong communication. The program also recognizes crews committed to student-athlete safety and sportsmanship.
Additional criteria include leadership, teaching, mentoring, recruitment, community service and volunteerism. The program prioritizes officials who dedicate most of their commitment to high school football rather than collegiate officiating.
Nomination Deadlines and Selection Process
Associations must submit September nominations no later than Tuesday, September 15. The October deadline is Friday, September 25, while November nominations must be submitted by Friday, October 30.
Each association may submit up to six officials for the designated crew positions. MPSSAA staff will make the final selections, and selected crews may include officials from multiple associations.
Recognition for Selected Crews
Selected crews will receive media recognition from the Baltimore Ravens and the MPSSAA. They also will receive an invitation to attend a Baltimore Ravens event.
