Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association Names Gilman Football’s Zane Krikstan and Mount St. Joseph Soccer’s Francis Duodu Athletes of the Week

The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association named Gilman football player Zane Krikstan and Mount St. Joseph soccer player Francis Duodu its Athletes of the Week for competition during the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 5, 2026.

Krikstan, a senior wide receiver and defensive back, played almost every snap on offense and defense against Delbarton on Saturday. He recorded seven receptions for 96 yards and an interception.

Zane Krikstan Contributed on Both Sides of the Ball

Krikstan earned the honor after producing for Gilman on offense and defense. His seven receptions totaled 96 yards, while his interception added a defensive highlight against Delbarton.

Francis Duodu Scores Game-Winning Goal

Duodu earned recognition after scoring the game-winning goal for Mount St. Joseph soccer. He scored with 15 minutes remaining in the second half, lifting Mount St. Joseph to a 2-1 win over two-time defending WCAC champion Gonaga (DC).

The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association said it will honor one or more athletes from the previous week of competition throughout the 2026-27 school year.
