The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association named Gilman soccer player Diego Eshwar and St. Mary’s football player Dylin Jackson its Athletes of the Week for Sept. 7-12, 2026. Eshwar contributed in three matches, while Jackson produced more than 200 all-purpose yards in St. Mary’s 43-7 win over St. John’s.
Diego Eshwar Produces Two Game-Winning Goals
Eshwar played 40 minutes against BL and scored the game-winning goal. He then played 60 minutes against McD and took one shot.
Against Curley, Eshwar played 35 minutes, took four shots, recorded one assist and scored another game-winning goal. Those performances earned the Gilman soccer player MIAA Athlete of the Week honors.
Dylin Jackson Leads St. Mary’s Football Performance
Jackson helped lead St. Mary’s to a 43-7 win over St. John’s. He caught five passes for 144 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Jackson also returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and finished with more than 200 all-purpose yards. The performance earned him MIAA Athlete of the Week honors alongside Eshwar.

The MIAA said it will honor one or more athletes from the previous week of competition throughout the 2026-27 school year. Eshwar and Jackson received the honors for the week of Sept. 7-12, 2026.
