Mancini named to Team of the Month
The month of April has not been the greatest for the rebuilding Baltimore Orioles.
With a 10-20 record for the month, the Orioles are currently sitting in last in the American League East. But one bright spot on the team is none other than Trey Mancini.
Mancini is off to a red-hot start to the 2019 season. So much so, that he has been named to Major League Baseball’s Team of the Month.
Mancini leads the Orioles in most categories, including batting average, hits, runs, doubles, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and on-base plus slugging. He is also tied for first in home runs with six on the year.
In 28 games this season, Mancini has batted .355/.405/.618 with 39 hits and 14 RBIs.
Mancini has not just been a stats leader for the Orioles. He is also in the high ranks for the entire American League. He is tied for first in the American League with those 39 hits (Michael Brantley & Elvis Andrus both have as well). He is fourth in batting average, third in runs, fifth in slugging percentage, and third in doubles.
Mancini is in his age 27 season and is no doubt one of the best players in the major leagues right now. And with a rebuilding club like the Orioles, he can be a superstar to build around.
Congratulations Trey on being named to MLB’s Team of the Month!
