LoLo Hurt, out for the season. Terrible news for the Terps Junior Running Back

For a Maryland team that has suffered through a rash of crucial injuries to key guys in key positions mainly the quarterbacks, The Terps have been relatively healthy this season with no major set backs.

That all changes today when Junior running back Lorenzo Lolo Harrison went down earlier today with a serious knee injury during a team practice via his Instagram post earlier today.

The aforementioned post stats the Junior suffered the injury earlier last week. The team initial thought it was just a hamstring issue but today they learn it was far worse. https://twitter.com/Matt5Levine/status/1045466600554541058

The Junior back missed the Terps win last week against Minnesota due to what many thought was just a minor hamstring injury, an injury that later head coach Matt Canada claim would not have kept Lolo out of the game had the Terps needed him to play.

The staff decided to rest Lolo to prevent any additional damage.

However, with this news today one has to feel horrible for the Junior back. Harrison has worked extremely hard based on teammates accounts and was one of the team leaders especially in the running back room full of talented under class men.

The injury was said to be a non contact one thus hopefully Lolo would be ready by next spring ball.

The fortunate thing is if you’re Maryland is that the injury while huge is still at a very deep position maybe even arguably the deepest on the team.

With the recent surge in quality play by red shirt freshmen running back Anthony McFarland, look for the Terps staff to incorporate him more and as well as the other backs into the offense.

Expect Javon Leake to see more carries going forward as well.

The sophomore from North Carolina has great potential with his elite speed.

He is another break away threat out of the back field. Let’s hope this doesn’t become more of an issue as injuries has halted any chance of on field success for Maryland football over the last few years.

In any other year this would be a gut punch blow but this year’s team is far more equip to deal with this injury especially at a loaded position.

All of Terps nation is praying and hoping this is the first and only season ending injury this year’s team would sustain. Here is to a speedy recovery for Lolo.

Due to the fact that Harrison has only taken part in one game this season, expect the Terps to seek a medical red shirt for their Junior star. #GOTERPS
