Men’s LAX Preview: Navy (3-2) at Lafayette (4-2)

The 20th-ranked Navy men’s lacrosse team travels to Easton, PA on Saturday afternoon to face Lafayette for the Midshipmen’s first road game of the season.

Coming off a lopsided loss to Princeton on Tuesday, the Mids are 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in the Patriot League. After winning four games in a row, the Leopards lost last week to Army. Lafayette is now 4-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Leading Lafayette on offense is senior co-captain Conor Walters. Through six games, Walters has 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists. His assists-per-game average of 1.83 ranks fifth in the Patriot League.

Meanwhile, Lafayette attackmen, Andrew Robbins and Connar Dehnert, have both scored 15 points this season. Cole Dutton, midfielder, has added nine goals and six assists to the Leopards winning record. Long-stick midfielder, Chris Adamo, is the highlight of Lafayette’s defense, with eight caused turnovers and 20 ground balls.

On the Navy side, Greyson Torain, midfielder, will be making his 50th collegiate start in his 50th collegiate game. Ryan Wade, also a midfielder, will try to extend his 29-game scoring streak, which currently stands at 11th longest in the nation. Another streak on the line will be Christian Daniel’s. The Navy attackman has a goal in each of his last 16 games, a span that has seen the sophomore score 36 goals for the Mids.

This game promises to be a real challenge for both programs and a delight for all lacrosse fans.
