Lamar Jackson Wins Second MVP Award
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson won his second career MVP on Thursday night during the NFL Honors award show. Jackson’s second MVP now puts him in elite territory as he now becomes the to 11th quarterback to win multiple MVP awards.
Jackson helped lead the Ravens to a 13-4 record, the best record in the NFL, while individually passing for 24 touchdowns and 3,678 yards, a new career high. Jackson also had a career high 67.2% completion percentage. But its what Jackson does in the rushing game that makes him such an elite player. Jackson finished the year with 821 yards on the ground to go along with five rushing touchdowns.
Jackson played in his first full season since 2020, and clearly showed why he is the driving force behind the Ravens success in 2023, after signing a massive five-year $260 million deal in the offseason to return to Baltimore. Although the season did not end how Jackson or the Ravens would have liked, 2023, was a special season nonetheless. Jackson continues to show the league why he is one of the most dynamic players in the history of the NFL, and continues to collect the hardware that proves it.
