Lady Terps Earn A Number Two Seed And Open vs Mount St. Mary’s

The Maryland women’s basketball team will be the number two seed in the Hemisphere Region. The Big Ten champion Lady Terps will play Mount St. Mary’s on Monday afternoon in the San Antonio area. The Mountaineers went 17-6 and beat Wagner 70-38 in the Northeast Conference final.

The 24-2 lady Terps lead the nation in scoring at 91.3 points per game. Ashley Owusu averages 18 points a game while Diamond Miller adds 17.5. Coach Brenda Freese won national coach of the year by ESPN. South Carolina is the top seed in this region. The winner of Maryland/MSM will play the winner of UNC/Alabama.

Game time is 4pm on ESPN for this game. The entire women’s tournament will be held in the San Antonio area with the sweet sixteen on happening at the Alamodome.
