June 30 – Angels vs. Orioles Preview
The Baltimore Orioles take on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for the middle game of a three game set. The Angels took Friday night’s game by a score of 7-1. The Orioles enter the second half of their season with an abysmal 23-58 record while the Angels enter Saturday’s game with a 42-41 record.
Pitching Matchup: Tyler Skaggs (6-5, 2.69 ERA) vs. Andrew Cashner (2-8, 4.70 ERA)
Tyler Skaggs is quietly having one of the best seasons for a starter in the American League this season, posting a 2.69 ERA over 15 starts. Skaggs was fantastic against the Kansas City Royals in his last start, going seven innings while allowing one run, but picked up the loss. In his last four starts, Skaggs has been red hot, posting a 0.67 ERA over 27 innings of work.
Andrew Cashner gets the ball for the Orioles for his third start back from the disabled list. Cashner has struggled to keep the ball in the park, posting a career high 1.53 HR/9 over his 15 starts. In his last start, Cashner lasted six innings while allowing three runs against the Seattle Mariners.
