Johns Hopkins University Men’s Soccer drew Vassar 2-2 on Sept. 4, 2026, after the Brewers scored with 34 seconds remaining in the Blue Jays’ home opener. The result left both teams at 1-0-1 on the season.
Johns Hopkins Builds an Early Lead
Brendan Listzwan gave Johns Hopkins an early advantage in the ninth minute, scoring his second goal in as many games. Connor Wilkes assisted on the play, sending the ball to the back post for Listzwan to flick past Vassar goalkeeper Jacob Raphan.
Johns Hopkins doubled its lead a little more than 11 minutes later. After receiving a pass from Juan Bruzzone, Wilkes carried the ball into the box and sent another pass to the back post, where Giulian Laudisa one-timed the ball into the top of the net.
Vassar Forces a Late Draw
Vassar responded in the 29th minute when Eli Torrey dribbled into the box and scored with a left-footed shot from 15 yards. Ryan Aiken made a save on a Jackson Allen header in the 83rd minute to temporarily preserve Johns Hopkins’ one-goal lead.
Vassar found the equalizer with 34 seconds remaining. Jacob Raphan played a long ball into the box, Jonah Kim headed it on and Alejandro Martinez redirected the ball over a charging Aiken to complete the scoring.
Aiken finished with one save for Johns Hopkins, while Raphan made two saves for Vassar. Vassar held a 10-8 advantage in shots and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Johns Hopkins Men’s Soccer Returns Sunday
Johns Hopkins will host Washington & Lee on Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. at Homewood Field.
