Johns Hopkins University Athletics men’s water polo player Mason Hofmann was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation East/Delfina Player of the Week after his performance at the Bruno Invitational. The honor was announced Sept. 28, marking Hofmann’s second career MPSF East Player of the Week selection.
The Blue Jays produced the league’s player of the week for the fourth consecutive week. Johns Hopkins finished the invitational with a 2-3 record.
Mason Hofmann Records 18 Goals at Bruno Invitational
Hofmann totaled 18 goals, eight assists, five drawn ejections, two blocks and five steals during the Bruno Invitational. He also scored the 100th goal of his career against Brown.
Hofmann opened the invitational against MIT, scoring three goals in Johns Hopkins’ double-overtime win. He followed with four goals, four assists, one block and three steals against 20th-ranked Harvard.
Hofmann Scores Career-High Seven Goals Against Brown
Hofmann added one goal and one assist against Connecticut College. Against Brown, he scored a career-high seven goals and contributed one assist, three drawn ejections, one block and one steal.
He finished the invitational against Concordia Irvine with three goals, two assists, two drawn kickouts and one steal. Johns Hopkins returns to action Saturday, Oct. 10, at the McKendree Invitational.
