Johns Hopkins senior Ivy Swafford was named the Centennial Conference Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after helping Johns Hopkins go 2-0 at the Hopkins Invitational in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The announcement on September 29, 2026, marked the first weekly conference award of Swafford’s career and the first conference weekly award for a Johns Hopkins Blue Jay this season. Johns Hopkins defeated Scranton and St. John Fisher at the invitational to extend its winning streak to three matches.
Ivy Swafford Powers Johns Hopkins at Hopkins Invitational
Swafford totaled 43 kills across eight sets, averaging 5.38 kills per set while hitting .422. The senior outside hitter also recorded seven aces and 22 digs, averaging 2.75 digs per set.
Swafford earned Hopkins Invitational All-Tournament Team honors after opening the weekend with a career-high 25 kills against Scranton. She followed that performance with 18 kills on a .500 hitting percentage in a sweep of St. John Fisher.
The St. John Fisher performance gave Swafford 67 kills over her last three matches. That total is the most by a Johns Hopkins player over a three-match span in at least the last 10 years.
Johns Hopkins Scheduled to Face Sixth-Ranked Juniata
Johns Hopkins is scheduled to play sixth-ranked Juniata on October 2, 2026, at 6 p.m. inside Goldfarb Gymnasium. The match follows the Blue Jays’ three-match winning streak and Swafford’s award-winning weekend.
