Hood College Women’s Swimming Team opened the 2026-27 season at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., with Sophia Routzahn and Lindsay DeLauder each earning two individual event victories. Gallaudet University defeated Hood College, but Hood also recorded multiple event wins and strong relay performances.
Routzahn and DeLauder Lead Hood College
Sophia Routzahn, a senior from Frederick, Md., won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.12 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.42. Lindsay DeLauder, a junior from Frederick, Md., captured the 100 individual medley in 1:11.57 and the 100-yard breaststroke.
Taegan Murphy added a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:16.53. Gabrielle Lonmore swept the distance freestyle events, winning the 200 freestyle in 2:30.74 and the 500 freestyle in 6:33.58.
Upcoming Meet Against Goucher College
Hood College will compete against Goucher College on Oct. 10, continuing the momentum from their season opener at Gallaudet University.
