Hood College Women’s Field Hockey Leads in Shots and Corners
Hood finished with an 11-4 advantage in total shots and led 10-3 in corners. Emma Massey paced Hood with three total shots, including two shots on goal.
Hood created an early opportunity after earning a penalty corner. Ellie Dainton recorded a shot that the Batten goalkeeper saved.
Neither team recorded a shot during the first half, with Hood holding Batten without a shot while also being scoreless themselves.
Batten University Scores Twice in Third Quarter to Secure Win
Batten University broke the scoreless deadlock in the third quarter with two goals. Those were the only goals of the game, giving Batten a 2-0 lead.
Hood continued to create opportunities in the second half but could not overcome the deficit. Berkley Miller made seven saves for Hood.

Hood College Women’s Field Hockey will return home to face the Shenandoah Hornets on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m. The game will be played at Hood.
