Hood College Women’s Cross Country team received a personal-best performance from sophomore Maya Carey at the Lock Haven Invite in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Carey finished 24th overall among more than 160 runners in the women’s 6K field with a time of 22:48.3.
The field included NCAA Division II programs Slippery Rock and Lock Haven. Carey’s performance led Hood College at the meet.
Maya Carey Leads Hood College at Lock Haven
Carey recorded the top individual finish for the Hood College Women’s Cross Country team, completing the course in 22:48.3. The Clarksburg, Maryland, native’s 24th-place result marked a personal best.
Sophomore Amber Marshall added a season-best time of 24:18.4. Junior Rosa Olivar also recorded a season-best performance, finishing in 25:04.3.
Hood College Women’s Cross Country Team’s Next Meet
Hood College is scheduled to compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invite hosted by Gettysburg College on October 17. The meet will follow the Lock Haven Invite, where Carey, Marshall and Olivar posted the team’s noted individual performances.
