The Hood College men’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Washington College (Md.) on Wednesday evening at Thomas Athletic Field in Frederick, Md. Despite a strong defensive effort in the first half, the Shoremen scored twice after halftime to secure the victory.
Washington College Scores Twice in Second Half
Tucker Sprano gave Washington College a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute. Hood College responded with offensive pressure, earning corner kicks in the 55th and 58th minutes. During the second half, Aidan Wright and N’Tony Kalala each recorded shot attempts as the Blazers sought an equalizer.
Simone Perin added Washington College’s second goal in the 81st minute. The loss dropped Hood College to 2-2 on the season, while Washington College moved to 1-0-3.
Adam Labows Makes Six Saves
Adam Labows made six saves for Hood College. Aidan Wright recorded three shots total during the match, including one on goal. Washington College finished with a dominant 17-4 advantage in shots.
Hood College is scheduled to travel to Virginia to face Shenandoah on Saturday, Sept. 12. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
