Hershey drops a game on the road, loses to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3-2

They Hershey Bears dropped a six game point streak Sunday afternoon against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on the road.

Just over two minutes into the period Travis Boyd would send a blind drop pass to Riley Barber who would score his nineteenth goal of the season bring the Bears ahead 1-0. However, with not even a minute more of game play the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins would tie the game with a Tom Kostopoulos goal making it 1-1.

It took almost the entire second period before another goal would be seen, as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton took the lead. Tyler Lewington was sent to the box for tripping, and Adam Johnson took advantage of the power playing with a deflected shot from Ethan Prow at 15:56 to make it 2-1.

Less than a minute later Tyler Graovac would tie the game back up when he caught a pass from Wayne Simpson to make it 2-2. In the middle of the final period Adam Johnson would score again at 10:06 to give Wilkes-Barre/Scranton a 2-3 lead and the game would end less than ten minutes later with no response from Hershey.

Hershey’s record now stands at 23-26-4-4. Hershey held their own only being outshot 25-24. Hershey will be on the road for Friday night, March third when they take on Lehigh Valley in Allenton, for the final meetup of the season with a game start of 7pm.
