Harrisburg Senators baseball scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning but fell to the Baysox, 9-8, on Aug. 29, 2026, in Harrisburg, Pa. Harrisburg trailed by six runs entering the ninth and had the tying run on base before the Baysox secured the win.
Devin Fitz-Gerald delivered a two-run double in the fifth inning and a three-run double in the ninth during the comeback attempt. Sam Brown also hit an opposite-field leadoff homer in the fourth inning and later singled home Fitz-Gerald in the ninth, but the Senators could not complete the rally.
Baysox Build Early Lead Against Yoel Tejeda Jr.
The Baysox hit four home runs off Harrisburg starting pitcher Yoel Tejeda Jr. Victor Figueroa hit a two-run homer in the first inning, while Wehiwa Aloy added a two-run shot in the fourth. Dom Keegan hit a solo homer later in the fourth, and Frederick Bencosme followed with a two-out RBI single that gave the Baysox a 6-0 lead.
Brown answered with an opposite-field leadoff homer in the fourth to cut the deficit to 6-1. Thomas Sosa then hit a two-run homer in the fifth, extending the Baysox lead to 8-1.
Tejeda allowed eight runs on eight hits and three walks, with one strikeout, in 4.2 innings. Fernando Peguero added an RBI double off Robert Cranz in the sixth inning to give the Baysox a 9-3 lead.
Devin Fitz-Gerald Leads Harrisburg Senators Comeback Attempt
Harrisburg began cutting into the deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning. Devin Ortiz walked and Nick Mitchell singled before Fitz-Gerald doubled to score both runners, reducing the Baysox lead to 8-3.
Joe Glassey pitched two scoreless relief innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. Luke Young retired the side in order in the ninth inning and struck out one.
The Senators made their final push in the bottom of the ninth. TJ White singled, Cortland Lawson walked and Devin Ortiz singled to load the bases before Mitchell drew a bases-loaded walk, making the score 9-4.
Fitz-Gerald followed with a three-run double that cut the deficit to 9-7. Brown then singled through the right side of the infield to score Fitz-Gerald and bring Harrisburg within one run at 9-8. The comeback ended there, and the Baysox closed out the win.
Next Game
The series finale is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. Left-hander Alex Clemmey is scheduled to start for Harrisburg and has a 4-6 record.
