Harford Community College women’s soccer defeated Frederick Community College 5-0 on Sept. 15 at the Harford Sports Complex in Bel Air, Maryland. Harford led 2-0 at halftime before scoring three goals after the break.
The victory improved Harford Community College to 6-1-1 overall and 5-0-1 against Region 20 opponents. Harford also extended its winning streak against Frederick Community College to 14 consecutive matches, dating to October 2008.
Lila Vincenti opened the scoring 3:17 into the match, with Annabelle Lathroum providing the assist. Julianna Baker added a second goal at 20:23 after Sydney McLaughlin set up the play. Harford outshot Frederick Community College 20-0 during the opening 45 minutes.
Hailey Cain extended Harford’s lead to 3-0 at 50:30. Macy Forest scored at 65:05 with Lathroum recording her second assist of the match, and Cain completed the scoring at 82:53 with an assist from Ariana Neff.
Forest led Harford with nine shots, including four on goal. Cain finished with five shots and four on goal, while Vincenti had three shots and two on target. Lathroum contributed two assists and three shots. Baker, McLaughlin and Neff each recorded one assist.
Frederick Community College managed only two total shots and one on goal, with Maebree Knight recording the Cougars’ lone shot on target.
Harford goalkeeper Olivia Wollschlager made one save for the shutout. Frederick goalkeeper Hannah Cook made 17 saves.
Harford Community College women’s soccer is scheduled to return home against Garrett College on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 4 p.m. at the Harford Sports Complex.
