Goucher College women’s field hockey senior goalkeeper Katie Bloom earned Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honors after recording three consecutive shutouts during the Gophers’ 3-0 week. The Landmark Conference announced its Athletes of the Week on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026.
Bloom helped Goucher secure shutout wins over Lancaster Bible, Sweet Briar and Roanoke, moving her into second place on the program’s all-time career shutouts list, behind Hall of Famer Dawn Greer.
Katie Bloom Records Three Shutouts
During the week, Bloom made one save against Lancaster Bible, stopped three shots in a 1-0 victory over Sweet Briar, and made an impressive 13 saves in a 2-0 win over Roanoke to keep the Maroons scoreless.
Her three consecutive shutouts anchored Goucher’s 3-0 week and earned her the Landmark Conference’s defensive weekly honor.
