Game Time Preview: Washington Mystics vs New York Liberty Preview
Do y’all remember the episode of Spongebob where he drew on his fingers “gang’s all here”?
The season begins Tuesday as the New York Liberty visits the Washington Mystics. Last season dubbed “the superteam” lost to Washington 80-64. While New York had the last laugh with sweeping Washington in the first round. The New York Liberty did not address their true concerns to be a potential champion.
The Mystics on the other hand this game do not have enough tape to show the identity of the offense for the Mystics. I would expect the defense to be their offense, however, with Shakira Austin recovering from a hip injury, A questionable rotation with how minutes are going to be distributed as another. I do expect the Mystics to compete for 40 minutes of basketball.
One game does not define the season but one game is not enough to see the projection. By game 10 we should see the Mystics in form.
The Keys To Victory
- How will the Mystics respond with an interior defense of Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart?
- How will this point guard-less offense look?
- Winning on the glass
- Limit foul trouble
- Expect to see the Mystics’ bench to be productive
- Getting the rookie (Aaliyah Edwards) involved early
Final score
Washington 78
New York 71
