The Navy Midshipmen(20-11, 11-7) defeated the Loyola Greyhounds(8-21, 6-12) by a score of 62-56. Navy sits at 3rd place in the Patriot Conference, while Loyola is 9th in the Patriot Conference.
The Midshipmen’s leading scorer was George Kiernan with 17 points. The Greyhounds leading scorer was Brent Holcombe with 18 points. Navy shot 36.8% from the field and 33.3% from the 3 point line. Loyola shot 40.7% from the field and 26.7% from the 3 point line.
Overall, Navy outlasted Loyola with their 15-2 late run in the second half which helped contribute to the much needed win. Navy’s next opponents are the Holy Cross Crusaders in the Quarterfinal of the Patriot League Tournament.
