Frostburg State University Women’s Volleyball fell to Wheeling, 3-0, in a Mountain East Conference road match on September 29, 2026, in Wheeling, West Virginia. Wheeling won the sets 25-15, 25-16 and 25-18 to improve to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The loss dropped Frostburg State to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in the Mountain East Conference. Wheeling also held a significant advantage in hitting percentage, finishing at .324 compared with Frostburg State’s .045.
Wheeling Controls Each Set
Frostburg State stayed within one point early in the opening set before Wheeling used a 5-0 run and took 10 of the next 11 points. The Bobcats answered with four consecutive points late in the frame, including two service-line scores from Miranda Ball, but Wheeling closed out the set, 25-15.
Wheeling built a 10-4 advantage in the second set after Frostburg State briefly remained within one point. Kayla Greene, Pia White, Grace Yocham and Alliyah McNair each recorded a score as the Bobcats tried to cut into the deficit, but Wheeling pulled away again and won, 25-16.
The hosts opened the third set with a 4-1 lead, although Frostburg State moved within one after scores from Adele Evans, Maya Johnson and Greene. The Bobcats remained close at 12-10 before Wheeling took seven of the next nine points. Evans added three kills during Frostburg State’s late push, but Wheeling completed the sweep with a 25-18 third-set victory.
Frostburg State Leaders
Alliyah McNair and Adele Evans combined for 13 kills for Frostburg State. Rhea Shetty recorded a team-high 14 assists, while Miranda Ball led the defensive effort with 14 digs.
Raegan Philips, Grace Yocham and Evans each recorded two blocks. Gabrielle Morris, Emery Kuebler, Maya Johnson, Kayla Greene and Pia White also recorded scores during the match.
Schedule and Upcoming Matches
Frostburg State was scheduled to remain on the road against West Liberty on Friday, October 2, at 7 p.m. The Bobcats were also scheduled to host Fairmont State on October 6 at 7 p.m.
Additional scheduled matches included trips to Charleston (WV) on October 9 at 7 p.m. and West Virginia State on October 10 at 2 p.m. Frostburg State was scheduled to host West Virginia Wesleyan on October 16 at 7 p.m. and Glenville State on October 17 at 2 p.m.
