Frostburg State University women’s soccer played No. 16 Fairmont State to a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon in Fairmont, W. Va., with senior goalkeeper Mia Graff recording a clean sheet. Frostburg State held a 21-14 advantage in shots and led 9-6 in shots on goal.
The match remained scoreless at halftime and neither team found a goal after the break. The result moved Frostburg State to 3-1-1 on the season, while Fairmont State moved to 4-0-1.
Frostburg State Women’s Soccer Creates Early Chances
Frostburg State generated several chances during the opening five minutes. Rayiah Davis headed a corner kick wide, and Cassidy Paige later sent a pass to Mollie Rebuck, who could not put her attempt on frame. Madison Hinton also hit a volley that reached Fairmont State goalkeeper Olivia Johnston after taking two deflections.
Rebuck later redirected Madison Hobson’s cross off the outside of the post. Ana Davis followed with a shot from outside the box, but Johnston handled the attempt.
Fairmont State also created opportunities during the back-and-forth first half. Serenity Thomas sent a low cross off the bottom of the post, while Graff parried away a dangerous corner kick and gathered a long-range effort from Dayra Dinarte.
Scoreless Second Half Preserves Draw
Each team had an early opportunity after halftime. Ainsley Wilson launched a ball into the box that bounced high, forcing Johnston to tip it onto the crossbar before keeping the ball away from Rebuck.
Fairmont State’s Arrington Sparks later sent a curling shot toward Graff, who made the save. Rebuck continued to threaten with a shot that curled just wide, while Graff stopped a left-footed attempt from Thomas during the closing minutes.
Rayiah Davis had Frostburg State’s final significant opportunity when she redirected a Madison Hinton free kick, but the attempt did not reach the Fairmont State goal. Frostburg State finished with a 21-14 edge in shots and a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Frostburg State will return home Wednesday, September 16, to host West Liberty at 5 p.m. The Bobcats will enter the match at 3-1-1 after earning a scoreless road draw against No. 16 Fairmont State.
