Frostburg State University women’s field hockey earned its second win of the season-opening road trip with a 6-1 victory over Coker on Sept. 6, 2026, in Hartsville, South Carolina. The Bobcats led 3-0 after the first period, held a 4-0 advantage at halftime, and improved to 2-1 on the season.
Bobcats Build Early Lead
Taylor Korczynski opened the scoring for Frostburg State on a penalty stroke. Emma Price doubled the lead, and Ava Shorkey scored before the end of the first period to give the Bobcats a 3-0 advantage.
In the second period, Avery Hayden added Frostburg’s fourth goal, assisted by Ava Shorkey. That goal sent the Bobcats into halftime with a four-goal lead. Shorkey recorded one goal and one assist in the first half.
Late Goals Secure Victory
Alayna Enoff scored in the third period to push the lead to 5-0. Izzy Gibbons added the sixth goal in the fourth period, while Coker scored its only goal on a finish by Angelina Belosio, assisted by Kiera Donnelly.
Frostburg State held a dominant 17-3 advantage in shots, including a 13-1 edge in shots on goal, and earned nine penalty corners in the victory.

With the loss, Coker fell to 0-1. Frostburg State will host Lander on Friday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. for its home opener.
