Frostburg State University men’s soccer players Nate Kennedy and Josiah Emerson earned Mountain East Conference Player of the Week honors announced Sept. 7, 2026. Kennedy was selected as the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, while Emerson received Defensive Player of the Week recognition. The awards were presented by The Health Plan.
Nate Kennedy earns offensive honor
Kennedy, a sophomore forward, scored both goals in Frostburg State University’s 2-1 win over No. 8 Bloomsburg on Sept. 2. He finished with four total points, including the game-winning volley with just over eight minutes remaining.
Josiah Emerson receives defensive recognition
Emerson, a graduate goalkeeper, made one save against Bloomsburg as the Huskies managed two shots on target. He followed that performance with a career-high eight saves in Frostburg State University’s 1-1 draw against No. 17 Davis & Elkins.
Emerson also made a penalty save with five minutes remaining to keep the match tied. His performances helped Frostburg State University remain unbeaten against its two ranked opponents during the week.
