Frederick Keys Score Early, Hold Off Rome Emperors 13-8 at AdventHealth Stadium

The Frederick Keys secured their fourth consecutive victory and second straight win over the Rome Emperors with a 13-8 triumph on July 22, 2026, at AdventHealth Stadium in Rome, Georgia. This was game two of a six-game series, and the Keys maintained control throughout after an explosive first inning.

Seven-Run First Inning Sets the Tone for Frederick Keys

The Keys started strong, scoring seven runs in the top of the first inning. Two-RBI singles from Wehiwa Aloy and Braylin Tavera fueled the early rally, supported by an RBI groundout from Yasmil Bucce and a two-run homer by Edwin Amparo. This gave Frederick a 7-1 lead over the Rome Emperors after the first inning.

In the second inning, Aloy capitalized on a throwing error to score from third base, extending the lead to 8-1. Tavera continued his offensive dominance in the third inning by hitting his second home run of the series. Aloy added another two-RBI hit during the same inning, pushing the lead to 11-1.

Rome Emperors Rally but Keys Maintain Advantage

The Emperors responded in the bottom of the fourth inning with a five-run rally, including a three-run homer, narrowing the Frederick lead to 11-6. Nevertheless, Aloy’s fifth RBI of the game in the fifth inning increased the margin to 12-6. Ben Vespi then pitched a scoreless bottom of the fifth to keep the lead intact.

Cameron Foster made a notable impact in his first Minor League rehab assignment outing for Frederick, tossing a perfect sixth inning by retiring the side in order. Reed Trimble added a solo homer in the seventh inning, extending the Keys’ lead to 13-6 before Rome hit back-to-back homers to close the gap to 13-8.

Closing Out the Win

After scoreless eighth and ninth innings from both teams, Braeden Sloan entered the game for Frederick in the bottom of the ninth and retired all three batters in order, securing the 13-8 victory for the Keys and extending their winning streak to four games.

Game three of the series between the Frederick Keys and Rome Emperors is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on July 23, 2026, at AdventHealth Stadium, continuing the six-game series.
