Frederick Keys Drop Both Games of Doubleheader to Wilmington Blue Rocks

The Frederick Keys dropped both games of a doubleheader to the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Aug. 21, 2026, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware. Wilmington won the opener 1-0 on a walk-off RBI single to right field before taking the second game 2-1.

Wilmington Wins Game 1 on Walk-Off

Kyson Witherspoon kept the first game scoreless through five innings. He recorded eight strikeouts and did not allow a run during his outing, including two strikeouts in the third inning and three more in the fifth.

The teams remained scoreless through the sixth inning. Wilmington ended the opener in the bottom of the seventh with a game-winning RBI single to right field.

Blue Rocks Complete Doubleheader Sweep

Stephen Still struck out the side in the bottom of the first inning and followed with a strikeout of the side in the second. Both teams remained scoreless through the third inning.

Wilmington scored twice in the bottom of the fourth on a two-RBI single. The Frederick Keys answered in the sixth when a double play brought home Enddy Azocar from third, but the Blue Rocks held on for the 2-1 victory.

Frederick Keys Continue Series Saturday

The Frederick Keys and Wilmington Blue Rocks are scheduled to meet Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The game is scheduled to be the sixth meeting between the teams in five days and the sixth game of a seven-game series.

Maryland Sports Blog Take

The Frederick Keys received scoreless work from Kyson Witherspoon in game one and an early strikeout performance from Stephen Still in game two, but Wilmington produced the decisive runs in both one-run victories. Frederick will have another opportunity Saturday to get back in the win column.
