Frederick Keys Rally to 7-2 Series-Finale Win Over Wilmington Blue Rocks (Nationals)

The Frederick Keys rallied to a 7-2 series-finale win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Nationals) after scoring five runs in the seventh inning Sunday at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware. The victory secured the series finale and gave the Keys their 72nd win of the season.

Frederick finished the seven-game series with a win, building a 7-0 lead through seven innings. Wilmington scored twice in the bottom of the eighth, but the Keys held on for the 7-2 victory.

Frederick Keys Build Early Lead

Boston Bateman opened the game with two strikeouts in the bottom of the first inning and faced the minimum. He recorded six strikeouts through three innings as the game remained scoreless heading into the fourth.

Braylin Tavera gave the Frederick Keys a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning. Jack Crowder then threw a scoreless bottom half in his first game as a Key.

Ethan Anderson doubled the lead with an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning. Both teams were scoreless in the sixth before Frederick broke the game open in the seventh.

Frederick Scores Five Times in Seventh

Ethan Anderson brought RJ Austin home from third on an error in center field to begin the scoring in the seventh. A wild pitch then allowed Enddy Azocar to score.

Leandro Arias followed with a two-run home run, and Jordan Sanchez added a solo home run to complete the five-run inning. The rally gave the Frederick Keys a 7-0 advantage entering the eighth.

Keys Close Out Series-Finale Victory

The Wilmington Blue Rocks scored their first runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on a solo home run and an RBI double. Zac Lampton struck out the final batter he faced in the inning, sending the game to the ninth with Frederick still ahead by five runs.

Cohen Achen struck out the side in order in the bottom of the ninth inning to close the game. The result gave the Frederick Keys a 7-2 win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium.

Frederick Keys Begin Final Homestand Tuesday

Following the league-wide off day Monday, the Frederick Keys will host the Asheville Tourists (Astros) beginning Tuesday night for the final homestand of the regular season. The series opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.
