DFS Hockey January 18

Tonight’s line up has some super stars with a mix of young talent.

At center I picked Mathew Barzal who right now is the favorite to win rookie of the year; who is playing a Boston Bruins team that played last night. Barzal has a combined 47 points in 46 games, and has had 10 points in his last five.

I then picked from the dark side taking Sidney Crosby as my second center. Crosby has been red hot with five straight multi point games and has 13 points in his last five games plus he’s only $6,900 I’ve never seen him that cheep before.

Other options I would recommend Mika Zibanejad $6,500, Nicklas Backstrom $6,400 and Nathan Mackinnon.

My wingers tonight are Alex Ovechkin, Dominik Simon and Riley Smith. Ovechkin is coming off a bye week, and still leads the league in goals, so hopefully he is well rested and ready to put up a lot of points tonight playing against New Jersey’s back up goalie.

Simon was my value play only costing me $3,800. He is currently on the top line in Pittsburgh playing along Crosby, so looks for him to score a goal with Crosby’s passing ability. Then my last winger is Dustin Brown. Brown is playing on the top line for LA, and playing a Pittsburgh team that has let in a lot of goals the past few games with Matt Murray leaving the team to take care of family issues. Brown is also second in points for the Kings.

Other good options are Brad Marchand $7,300, Rick Nash $5,500, Jordan Eberle $5,500 and Nikita Kucherov.

My defense is a little cheep, but could have great value. I picked Nate Schmidt and Samuel Girard. Schmidt is playing on Vegas’s top line and is on the power play, and Girard is only $3,000 who is on Colorado’s top power play as well. Girard despite only just playing his first NHL game a few days ago the rookie produced three points in his debut.

Other options are John Carlson $6,400, PK Subban $5,800 and Kevin Shattenkirk $5,800

My flex is JT Miller who is on the second line and second in points for the Rangers playing a last place Buffalo Sabers.

My goalie in net tonight is Pekka Rinne. Rinne is playing the last place team in the West, and Rinne stopped 25 of 26 shots in his last start, and currently has the sixth best save percentage in the NHL

Other good options are Braden Holtby, .
