Delmarva Shorebirds Athletic Trainer Maggie Hunt Selected as 2026 Carolina League Athletic Trainer of the Year
Maggie Hunt, athletic trainer for the Baltimore Orioles organization and the Delmarva Shorebirds, was selected as the Carolina League Athletic Trainer of the Year for the 2026 baseball season. The announcement was made by Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society President Nick Kenney, who revealed the winners of the 2026 Minor League Athletic Trainers of the Year Awards.
The awards recognize one athletic trainer from each of Minor League Baseball’s 14 leagues. Winners are selected by their peers based on their contributions to player health, professionalism, and commitment to player care.
Maggie Hunt Earns Carolina League Recognition
Hunt’s selection as the Carolina League Athletic Trainer of the Year highlights her dedication during the 2026 season. The recognition was included among the league winners announced by PBATS.

The athletic trainers we honor today work in some of the most demanding and rewarding environments in professional sports, and they do it with a level of professionalism, expertise, and genuine passion for their athletes that defines this society. PBATS Honors to Be Presented at MLB Winter Meetings
The Minor League Athletic Trainer of the Year and Minor League Staff of the Year honors will be presented at this year’s MLB Winter Meetings in San Diego, California. The PBATS announcement also identified winners for the Minor League Medical Coordinator and Latin American Coordinator of the Year awards.
“These awards shine a light on professionals who do extraordinary work largely behind the scenes. The 2026 winners represent every corner of professional baseball, from the Dominican Summer League to the International League, and each has made a meaningful impact on the players and organizations they serve.
