D.C. United scores equalizer for 2-2 draw vs. Toronto FC

D.C. United was back in action on Saturday night looking for three points. They came out of their matchup with Toronto FC with at least a point. The Black and Red started the match on the right foot and their offense gave them an early lead.

Forward Ola Kamara burst through the Toronto backline in the fifth minute and slotted home a goal on the inside of the post to give United the 1-0 lead. Toronto leveled the score in the 17th minute on a goal from Alejandro Pozuelo. 1-1 would be the score at the half.

The visitors took the lead in the 60th minute with a header from Ayo Akinola. Griffin Yow, homegrown midfielder, entered the game in the second half to replace an injured Mohammed Abu. Yow made an impact in the 88th minute when he volleyed home his first MLS goal.

United may have drawn but that late equalizer lifted the team. You can see in the video of the goal that his teammate Paul Arriola was going crazy in the stands.

D.C. United will travel to Nashville this Wednesday as they take on expansion Nashville SC. Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. eastern.
