D.C. United recap 7/17/20: DCU 1, NE 1

D.C. United fought to another draw, this time the final being 1-1 against the New England Revolution on Friday night at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports complex in Disney World. The win improves United’s record to 1-1-2 for five points. DCU is now 34-27-15 in the regular season against the Revolution.

The first half was back and fourth with Bill Hamid making a couple of critical saves. Both teams headed into the locker room tied at zero.

The Revolution took a 1-0 lead when Adam Buksa got on the end of a deflected shot and headed it in during the 51st minute.

D.C. United tied it in the 72nd minute with a goal from Federico Higuain, taking advantage of a misplaced pass by a New England defender and dribbling it in past the goalkeeper. 1-1 would go on to be the final.

D.C. United will face the Montreal Impact in the final group stage match on July 21 at 10:30 p.m. on TUDN.
