The D.C. United Foundation will host its fifth annual Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. The D.C. United Foundation Golf Classic will bring together D.C. United First Team players, coaches, ownership, front office staff and corporate partners to raise funds for young people and families throughout the DMV.
Shanell Mosley, senior director of community impact and executive director of the D.C. United Foundation, said the Golf Classic remains the organization’s largest fundraiser. “Five years in, our Golf Classic remains our largest fundraiser, but its real power is what it makes possible,” Mosley said.
Golf Classic Supports D.C. United Foundation Programs
Funds raised through the event support the D.C. United Foundation’s mission to use soccer to expand access and opportunities for young people and families throughout the DMV. The Foundation prioritizes communities that lack equitable access to important resources and education.
The 2025 D.C. United Foundation Golf Classic surpassed $1 million raised over its first four years. That funding has supported free and adaptive soccer clinics, field revitalizations, mini-pitch builds, Soccer & Soar youth workshops, Season of Giving and the Back to School Bash.
Foundation funding also supports United In Play, which provides soccer equipment to local teams and nonprofit organizations. The equipment includes soccer balls, shin guards, cleats and sports bras.

Mosley said proceeds from the event support year-round community events, youth programs and grants for local organizations. “Funds raised this day directly support our year-round work, from community events and youth programs to the grants we award to local organizations doing critical work throughout the DMV. What makes this day special is watching our entire organization show up to play for something bigger than the game itself.”
