After a 1-0 win in New York, the Red Bulls would get payback with a 2-0 win over D.C. United at Audi Field on Saturday.
D.C. United kept the pressure and were the better team in the first half but found themselves down 1-0 on a header from Aaron Long in the 29th minute.
The Red Bulls added another goal in the 62nd minute from Daniel Royer. D.C. United was unable to score for the third straight game.
D.C. United returns to action at Audi Field on September 19 against Toronto FC.
