D.C. United and Chicago Fire play to 3-3 draw

Another game, another draw for D.C. United. This one came at Audi Field 3-3 to the Chicago Fire, but it was a game in which the Black and Red rallied. from a 2-0 deficit.

The three-goal surge was not enough though, as Chicago scored to ensure both teams came away with just a point.

The Fire struck first in the 12th minute off the leg of C.J. Sapong. They doubled that lead two mintues later thanks to Djordje Mihailovic.

Towards the end of the first half, D.C. United got on the board in the 43rd minute when Wayne Rooney connected with Ulises Segura.

The Black and Red thought they had the equalizer in stoppage time from Lucas Rodriguez, but the referee signaled a handball, which waved the goal off.

Still, D.C. United rode that Segura goal into the second half. Speaking of Segura, he scored again in the 61st minute to tie the game at two.

In the 81st minute, Luciano Acosta netted a header, and D.C. United was up 3-2.

D.C. United tried to preserve the lead as the game went into a five minute stoppage time, but the Fire tied it.

Francisco Calvo scored in the second minute of the stoppage time, from three points to one. The silver lining is better than nothing.

The Philadelphia Union also played to a draw on Wednesday night. Their’s was a 1-1 draw against Colorado.

D.C. United is back in action at Audi Field Saturday at 8 p.m. against the San Jose Earthquakes.
