BALTIMORE — Coppin State Universitys womens volleyball team will open MEAC play with road matches at Howard on September 24 and Norfolk State on September 27. The Eagles enter conference competition with seven consecutive victories, and both matches will air on the MEAC Network.
Coppin State University Women’s Volleyball Schedule
Coppin State University will visit Howard at 6 p.m. on September 24 before traveling to Norfolk State for a 1 p.m. match on September 27. The Eagles will then return home to host Loyola on September 29 in their home opener.

The matches at Howard and Norfolk State begin Coppin States MEAC schedule. The Eagles are in their 40th season of NCAA volleyball and will play their first home match against Loyola after opening conference competition on the road.
Seven-Match Winning Streak
Coppin State went 3-0 at UConns For The White & Blue Tournament with victories over UConn, Rhode Island and Merrimack. Eva Rovello was named the tournament MVP, while Cherisse Atilano and Kayden Cupid earned All-Tournament honors.
The Eagles also defeated New Haven in four sets before returning home from Connecticut. Deviana Walker led Coppin State with 14 kills, Ivanna Luna added 12, and Kayden Cupid and Rori Gray each finished with 11 kills.
Cupid recorded 10 blocks for a double-double, while Rovello posted 42 assists and 10 digs. Rovello was named MEAC Player of the Week on September 21, and Cupid earned MEAC Defensive Player honors.
Rovello and Cupid Lead National Statistical Categories
Cupid enters MEAC play with 72 total blocks, the nations leading total. She also ranks 15th nationally with 1.53 blocks per set, while Coppin State ranks second nationally with 138 total blocks.
Rovello has 501 assists, third-most nationally. The junior setter also earned MEAC Setter of the Week recognition after the opening weekend at Virginia Tech, averaging 7.54 assists and 2.15 digs per set with 11 kills on .440 hitting.
Coppin State set a school record for hitting percentage in a four-set match during its victory over Cleveland State, hitting .383. The Eagles also established a school record with 18 total blocks in a five-set loss to Penn.
Tim Walsh Enters 10th Season at Coppin State
Head coach Tim Walsh is entering his 10th season at Coppin State University. Walsh has a 153-130 record, and his teams have gone 85-32 in MEAC play during his first nine seasons.
Since 2022, Coppin State has gone 97-49 overall and 49-7 in conference matches.
