Coppin State University Women’s Volleyball Earns MEAC Weekly Honors After Three Wins

Coppin State University women’s volleyball received two MEAC weekly honors after winning three matches during the previous week. Eva Rovello was named MEAC Setter of the Week, while Coco Figueroa earned Defensive Player of the Week honors in the league’s announcement on Oct. 5, 2026.

Rovello received her fourth weekly honor of the year and her third MEAC Setter of the Week recognition. Figueroa earned her second weekly honor of the season and the ninth of her career as Coppin State University extended its winning streak to 12 matches.

Eva Rovello Directs Coppin State University Women’s Volleyball Offense

Rovello averaged 10.08 assists and 2.58 digs per set during the three-match week and recorded seven aces. The junior setter also helped Coppin State University produce a .304 hitting percentage during the stretch.

Rovello recorded 45 assists and 17 digs in a victory over Loyola Maryland. She followed with 33 assists and three aces in a sweep at South Carolina State before finishing with 43 assists, nine digs and three aces in a win at NC Central.

Rovello leads the MEAC with 9.44 assists per set and eight double-doubles. She ranks 10th in the conference with 2.25 digs per set and has 27 aces, 64 kills, a .373 hitting percentage, 43 blocks and 689 assists.

Her performance has helped Coppin State University produce a league-high .240 hitting percentage. Rovello’s 43 blocks rank third on the team.

Coco Figueroa Reaches Career Dig Milestone

Figueroa averaged 4.67 digs per set during the week and surpassed 1,500 career digs. The senior libero recorded 12 digs and seven assists against Loyola Maryland, 18 digs at South Carolina State and 26 digs at NC Central.

Figueroa leads the MEAC with a 4.25 digs-per-set season average. She ranks third in Coppin State University history with 1,528 career digs and fourth with 137 career aces, while her career dig total ranks fifth in MEAC history.

Figueroa also has 310 digs this season. Her Defensive Player of the Week honor is her second of the season and ninth of her career.

Coppin State University Women’s Volleyball Prepares for Two MEAC Matches

Coppin State University held a 13-5 overall record and a 4-0 MEAC mark when the weekly honors were announced. The Eagles had won 12 consecutive matches at that time.

Coppin State University will host Maryland Eastern Shore at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, before playing at Delaware State at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Both matches will air on the MEAC Network.
