The Coppin State University women’s cross country team finished third at the Delaware State University Sting Invite, totaling 98 points at the Delaware State Research and Outreach Center in Smyrna, Del. Delaware State won the team competition with 16 points, followed by Morgan State with 63 points.
Dannica Arrington Leads Coppin State University
Freshman Dannica Arrington paced Coppin State University in her collegiate debut, finishing seventh overall in the 5K with a time of 21:18.1. Freshman Sarahi Paulino-Martinez followed in 17th place at 23:01.5.
Senior Gifty Oku finished 22nd in 24:21.8, while freshman Kimora Grant placed 30th in 25:50.8. Sophomore Chase Cineus finished 32nd in 26:06.6 to round out Coppin State’s scoring lineup.
Sophomore Danielle Wooten also competed for Coppin State and finished 35th overall in 26:29.6.
Team Standings and Next Meet
Coppin State finished ahead of Bowie State, which scored 104 points, and Lincoln (Pa.), which scored 105 points. District of Columbia rounded out the team standings.
Coppin State University is scheduled to return to competition Saturday, September 19, at the UMES Invite in Princess Anne, Md.
