Are the Commanders a Sleeping Giant After Last Night?

The NFL is back, baby! Last night had a thrilling (unless you had the over) matchup between Kansas City and Detroit. Co-defensive players of the game Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore ensured the Chiefs demise by dropping every pass they could get their hands on. While the pair provided nothing but agony for fans inside Arrowhead, the rest of us were treated to a tweet storm of hilarious proportions, including my personal favorite:

I know Toney is used to wearing blue in his career having played at Florida and the New York Giants, but neither of those teams wear Honolulu blue. Not really sure what he was doing last night. Now, it would be easy to assume all of Kansas City’s problems are on the receivers replacing their hands with bricks and Travis Kelce being out with a knee injury, but intellectuals like me know that’s not the case.

The Chiefs have Matt Nagy calling plays for them because Eric Bieniemy left for Washington. We’ve all seen how Matt Nagy is as a head coach, but people forget that he was a highly touted OC before he left for Chicago. If Nagy called a game as ineffectively as he did last night that can only mean one thing: Bieniemy is going to be an absolute god in DC. I see no logical conclusion to this other than Sam Howell running roughshod over all his haters (of which there are many) and taking the league by storm.

“What about the Eagles though, Sean?”

Oh hey there, voice in my head, been a while since you’ve made an appearance in my writing. Great question, the Eagles are still the class of the NFC until proven otherwise; however, their days are numbered. Howell, McLaurin, Dotson, Robinson, Sweat, Allen, Payne, Forbes, and Curl. The Commies… I mean Communists… I mean Commanders have dudes all over the place. With Bieniemy at the helm of the offense this team is going to start coming for necks and nobody will know what hit them.

I have to admit, I never thought I’d be writing words filled with hope like this, but here we are. The Josh Harris era has managed to wipe nearly all the stink of Dan Snyder’s tenure out of my mindset completely. Today, like every other day since the sale was official, is a great day in the DMV.

Now watch the team go out and put up a total clunker against Arizona just to mess with my head.
