College Football Preview: Morgan State (0-2) at UAlbany (0-2)

The Morgan State Bears (0-2) travel to face the University at Albany Great Danes (0-2) on Saturday 9/15 at 7PM, with both teams seeking their first win of the season. This match up kicks off the second game of a three game road trip for the Bears who hope to make up some ground in the standings.

The Bears have had a rough start to the year. Their offense has been lackluster at best, and the defense has not been able to hold opposing offenses in check- having only scored 10 points on offense for the year while giving up 76 points through two games.

Bears Quarterback Deandre Harris has only 174 yards passing through two games with zero touchdowns and two picks. He also has -11 rushing yards (yes, negative 11) for one touchdown, but that touchdown came when the Bears were down 41-0 to Akron with 11 seconds remaining in the game. The only other touchdown Morgan State has on the season is a defensive touchdown fumble recovery in the end zone by long snapper Zach Castano which came against Towson in week 1.

Bears interim head coach Ernest T. Jones needs to figure something out- and do so in a hurry. With UAlbany’s defense giving up 78 points over their last two respective games, the Bears are hoping this will be their chance to get their 2018 campaign back on track. A respectable offensive performance and a few defensive stops would be a big step in the right direction.
