Gaston earned the win with a 3-4 record, while Neighbors took the loss with a 0-4 record. Harrisburg right-hander Jhancarlos Lara recorded the save.
Baysox Cannot Finish Ninth-Inning Rally
Chesapeake created another opportunity in the ninth inning against Lara. Wehiwa Aloy and Figueroa reached base via walks as the tying and go-ahead runs, but the Baysox did not score.
Vance Honeycutt made the game-ending flyout in his only plate appearance after entering in the eighth inning. Sosa and Figueroa each recorded multi-hit games, while Aron Estrada reached base three times with two singles and a walk for his 30th multi-hit game of the season.
Baysox Face Senators Again Thursday
Chesapeake continues the series against Harrisburg on Thursday night. Anthony Eyanson is scheduled to start for the Baysox against Senators left-hander Josh Hartle, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Eyanson is listed at 6-1 with a 1.93 ERA, while Hartle is listed at 4-5 with a 3.63 ERA. The Baysox are scheduled to begin a six-game homestand against the Portland Sea Dogs on Sept. 1, 2026, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
