Chesapeake Bayhawks Lose Third Game of Season
Saturday July 21 was a nasty day of rain on the East Coast. The playing conditions of the turf at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium were less than ideal; guys slipping and sliding, creating great potential for injury.
The Chesapeake Bayhawks lost to Charlotte Hounds 20-10, for their third loss of the season. were 8-2 going into the game, just one and a half games behind the Dallas Rattlers.
Despite the score, with valiant efforts, goalie Niko Amato faced 23 shots on goal, allowed 16, saved seven. After playing three quarters, veteran Brian Phipps was put in, and allowed three.
Offensively, Colin Heacock was the hero, scoring four of the ten goals. Matt Abbott was able to connect with Jeremy Sieverts for a powerplay goal.
The Bayhawks have three games left on the season; July 26 at Atlanta Blaze, July 28 home hosting Denver Outlaws, and August 04 at New York Lizards.
