Catholic University of America Cardinals Defeat Goucher College Women’s Soccer Team 8-0

The Catholic University of America Cardinals defeated the Goucher College women’s soccer team 8-0 in a Landmark Conference matchup Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at Beldon Field in Baltimore. Goucher entered the match with a 1-9-0 overall record and a 0-3 Landmark Conference mark, while Catholic entered at 7-3-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

Catholic Builds Halftime Lead

Nia George stopped an attempt in the opening minute to record her first save of the match. Madison Ybarra followed with a corner kick for Goucher in the second minute, but the Cardinals continued to apply pressure.

Catholic broke through in the 12th minute. George added saves in the 17th and 21st minutes before the Cardinals scored again in the 24th minute and added three more goals to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.

Cardinals Complete 8-0 Victory

Olivia Oakes took over in goal to begin the second half. Catholic extended its lead with goals in the 50th and 62nd minutes before adding one more goal to complete the 8-0 result.

Oakes recorded a save in the 52nd minute. Goucher created a late opportunity when first-year Gaga Kuiy put a shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the attempt was saved by the Catholic goalkeeper.

The Cardinals finished with a 34-1 advantage in shots and led 14-1 in corner kicks. George made seven saves for Goucher, while Oakes added three.

Goucher College Women’s Soccer Team Heads to Juniata

The Goucher College women’s soccer team will travel to Juniata Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 10, for another Landmark Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
