Cashner takes the mound in snowy Detroit

DETROIT, MI– 6:40pm EDT– The Baltimore Orioles will look to flip the script and stop the three game road losing streak that started in Boston. Orioles Andrew Cashner will take the mound vs veteran LHP Francisco Liriano.

The fourth outing for Cashner will be in almost un-charted territory for him. Pitching most of his career in the Nation al League, Cashner has only had one previous start against the Tigers, going well Cashner he threw a shut out. Good for the Orioles all three batters in the Detroit Tigers thats faced Cashner are a combined 0-for-11, which includes players Miguel Cabera, Leonys Martin, and Victor Martinez.

Taking on Baltimore’s bats will be Liriano, who’s had a pleasant start to the 2018 season. The lefty has thrown two consecutive starts that have gone six innings, in his first start vs Kansas City he threw 6.2 innings of one run ball then followed that up going 6 innings allowing two runs vs Cleveland. Liriano has seen the Orioles pervasively in his career, and just a pair of bats for the Orioles have seen some success. Including, Chris Davis .333 AVG 1HR 9AB, and Adam Jones .444 AVG 1RBI 9AB.

The Orioles will need to a quality performance from Andrew Cashner to set the team up well for the games to come. Weather looks to play a factor in Tuesday’s game in Detroit due to the snow flurries. Baltimore needs to get out to an early lead and give Cashner a chance to go the distance once again vs Detroit.
